This October, Higgins Corporation proudly marks 65 years in business. In 1960, my father, David R. Higgins Jr., purchased Shepard’s Inc. in Hallowell, Maine. What began with typewriters, adding machines, and photocopiers has grown into a company that delivers secure ID card systems, situation and emergency management solutions, and cloud-based technologies.

Over the decades, we have continuously adapted to the rapid pace of change in the business world. From the early days of word processing and computer networking to today’s digital-first workplace, Higgins has evolved to meet the needs of our customers while staying true to the values that define us.

As we celebrate this milestone, I reflect on the many challenges we’ve faced and the growth we’ve achieved—through acquisitions, relocations, industry shifts, and even a global pandemic. None of it would have been possible without the commitment of our employees and the trust of our clients.

Sixty-five years is more than a number. It represents generations of hard work, innovation, and relationships that continue to shape who we are today. And as we look ahead, Higgins remains focused on serving with excellence and building on the foundation that has carried us this far.

To our employees, customers, and community: thank you for being part of our journey. You are the reason Higgins matters, and the reason we look forward to the future with confidence and excitement.

Happy 65th Anniversary, Higgins Corporation!
